Labor’s Relentless Campaign on Fisher Mental Health, Healthcare Services
Yesterday I addressed some critical issues regarding our health services, particularly mental health and veterans' wellbeing in Parliament.
Labor is at it again, trying to paint the Coalition as anti-Medicare. But let's set the record straight. When they took office, Medicare bulk billing rates were at 88%. Now, they're down to 77%—a big fat fail on their part.
One of the most frustrating failures of this Government is their delay in establishing a Headspace in Caloundra. It took 18 months of relentless campaigning to get it done, and that's just not good enough for our young people.
Mental health care in this country is an absolute disgrace. We need a health minister who truly understands mental health, like former Health Minister Greg Hunt did. I've seen the struggles firsthand, both in the public and private sectors, and it's time we stop sweeping these issues under the carpet.
Join me as I continue to fight for better mental health services and support for our veterans in Fisher. It's time for real change.
