Tropical Cyclone Alfred Update

As preparations continue, I met with Mayor Rosanna Natoli at the Sunshine Coast Council Disaster Coordination Centre with Brent Mickelberg MP for an updated briefing on TC Alfred.

I want to thank the dedicated team working around the clock to ensure our community is prepared.

Currently, Alfred is a Category 2 system, moving slowly towards the southeast Queensland coast. It is expected to cross the Moreton Bay Islands on Saturday morning before making landfall between Noosa and Beenleigh later in the day.

Heavy rainfall, life-threatening flash flooding, destructive winds, abnormally high tides, and dangerous surf are expected to impact our region today and over the weekend. Please take precautions and stay informed.
