Too Little, Too Late: Labor Slow on Real Consequences for Antisemitism
Too little, too late.
Once again we dragged Labor kicking and screaming to legislate 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘮 and religious-motivated violence.
For three years, the Coalition has led the charge on Australia's national security while the Government fumbled its way through each day.
Antisemitism. Border Security. Paedophiles and offenders released into communities. Alice Springs. Knife crime. Online safety and child exploitation. We have led from Opposition on these issues and more.
And after a hard fight for mandatory minimum sentences for acts of terror, particularly targeting places of worship, we have forced Labor to capitulate. Commonsense from the Coalition has once again triumphed over Labor's weak leadership and wrong priorities.
Proud to see Peter Dutton leading from opposition. Alongside my Coalition counterparts, I'm continuing the fight 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘈𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. And I'm also reiterating my calls for a comprehensive 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆.
Strong leadership. A plan to get the country back on track. That's what Australians deserve - and what they can expect from the Coalition.
